The Workshop

Start a project

Create a project for each book, anthology, or editorial production. A project holds manuscript versions, profiles, jobs, imports, covers, and generated assets together.

  • Use New Project to set the title, author, project type, and default language.
  • Add manuscript versions manually or import EPUB, DOCX, or TXT files from the project page.
  • Keep original, translated, narrated, and layout-ready versions inside the same project history.

Structure the manuscript

The Workshop separates front matter, chapters, and back matter so translation, narration, print layout, and EPUB export can reuse the same structure.

  • Front matter is for material such as prefaces, dedications, introductions, and copyright pages.
  • Chapters hold the main body of the book and can be regenerated individually for translation or audio.
  • Back matter is for notes, appendices, acknowledgements, or other closing material.

Import files

Use imports when you already have a manuscript file. EPUB, DOCX, and TXT imports create a review step before content is committed to a manuscript version.

  • DOCX imports work best when Word heading styles mark chapters or sections.
  • TXT imports work best when each major section starts with a line beginning with ##.
  • EPUB imports can be reviewed before the Workshop creates structured manuscript content.

Use production profiles

Profiles save editorial choices so jobs can be repeated consistently across a book or catalog.

  • Translation profiles define source and target languages, regional variants, and translation policy.
  • TTS profiles define language, voice, narration style, diction, pacing, pauses, and number handling.
  • Layout profiles define page size, margins, typography, flow, headers, footers, and advanced print settings.

Run jobs and download files

Jobs produce new versions or export files. Completed outputs appear as assets on the job and project pages, where you can open or download them.

  • Translation jobs create a translated manuscript version and allow individual chapter regeneration.
  • Audiobook jobs generate audio from manuscript content using the selected TTS profile.
  • Print layout and EPUB jobs create export files that remain attached to your project.
