Legal
Terms of Service
Effective June 17, 2026. These Terms govern access to Guijarro Workshop, a manuscript production platform operated by Editorial Guijarro S.A. de C.V.
1. Agreement to these Terms
By creating an account, accessing the website, uploading a manuscript, running a production job, or downloading an export, you agree to these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the AI Usage Note, and any plan-specific terms presented in the Workshop. If you use the Workshop for an organization, press, client, estate, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Workshop.
2. The Workshop service
Guijarro Workshop provides editorial production tools for structured manuscript management, import review, translation workflows, audiobook generation, print layout, EPUB production, generated asset storage, and related project tracking.
The Workshop is a production tool, not a publisher, literary agent, legal advisor, rights clearance service, tax advisor, or archival guarantee. You remain responsible for editorial judgment, rights clearance, publication decisions, quality control, and compliance with applicable laws.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by collaborators or employees who use your credentials.
- You may not share an account in a way that bypasses plan limits or security controls.
- You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you are under the age required by applicable law, you may use the Workshop only with permission from a parent, guardian, or authorized institution.
4. Your manuscripts, inputs, and generated outputs
You retain ownership of manuscripts, chapters, front matter, back matter, cover files, instructions, prompts, editorial notes, profile settings, and other content you upload or enter into the Workshop.
As between you and Editorial Guijarro S.A. de C.V., you own the downloadable outputs generated for your account, including translated manuscript versions, EPUB files, PDFs, audio files, and other production assets, to the extent those outputs are legally capable of ownership and subject to any third-party rights, source-material rights, model-provider terms, or applicable law.
You grant us a limited license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, transform, and store your content only as necessary to provide the Workshop, operate security and abuse-prevention systems, troubleshoot errors, enforce these Terms, comply with law, and deliver requested features such as translation, narration, print layout, EPUB creation, previews, downloads, and support.
You represent that you have all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions needed to upload content and use the Workshop with that content. This includes rights in manuscripts, translations, covers, voices, names, likenesses, third-party excerpts, public-domain editions, and client materials.
5. AI-assisted features
The Workshop may use AI systems and third-party model providers to assist with translation, narration, text processing, formatting, metadata, previews, and related production tasks. AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, culturally inappropriate, stylistically inconsistent, duplicative, or unsuitable for publication.
You must review AI-assisted outputs before publication, distribution, licensing, sale, narration release, or other public use. You may not represent AI-generated material as entirely human-authored if doing so would be deceptive, unlawful, or contrary to platform, publisher, distributor, or marketplace rules.
Additional details appear in the AI Usage Note, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Plans, usage limits, billing, and taxes
Plans may include limits for monthly translation words, audiobook words, EPUB builds, PDF builds, translation profiles, layout profiles, TTS profiles, concurrent jobs, previews, and regenerations. Usage is measured by the Workshop’s records, which may include job history, usage events, generated assets, and plan configuration.
Paid plans may be billed through third-party payment processors. You authorize recurring charges for subscription plans until you cancel or the plan is otherwise terminated. You are responsible for applicable taxes, payment-method accuracy, and charges incurred through your account.
Unless required by law or expressly stated in writing, fees are non-refundable, partial billing periods are not prorated, and unused plan capacity does not roll over. If payment fails, access may be downgraded, limited, or suspended until payment is resolved.
We may change prices or plan limits with reasonable notice for paid subscriptions when required by law or when the change materially affects your plan.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the Workshop to:
- Upload or generate content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, moral rights, contractual rights, or other legal rights.
- Create, translate, narrate, or distribute unlawful, exploitative, abusive, harassing, hateful, or deceptive content.
- Impersonate another person, misrepresent authorship, forge permissions, or obscure required disclosures.
- Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, bypass security controls, scrape the service, overload job systems, or interfere with other users.
- Use generated outputs for legal, medical, financial, employment, housing, credit, education, insurance, immigration, or other high-impact decisions about a person.
- Use the Workshop to create voice content without all required rights and consents for the text, voice, speaker identity, and intended distribution.
- Use the service in violation of sanctions, export controls, or applicable trade restrictions.
8. Storage, exports, deletion, and backups
The Workshop is designed to make manuscripts and generated files accessible from your account. You should still keep independent backups of manuscripts, rights documentation, production masters, and final publication files.
We may retain copies of content, job logs, usage records, and generated assets for operational, legal, billing, security, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes. Deleting a project, version, job, or account may not immediately remove all copies from backups or provider systems.
We may remove content or disable access when required by law, when content appears to violate these Terms, when a rights holder submits a credible complaint, or when continued hosting creates operational, legal, or security risk.
9. Third-party services
The Workshop may rely on third-party services for AI models, text-to-speech, payment processing, cloud storage, email, analytics, security, hosting, and support. Your use of the Workshop may require content or account data to be processed by those providers for the requested feature to work.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy notices, service limits, outages, and retention practices. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, but we select providers with attention to security, reliability, and the Workshop’s editorial production purpose.
10. Intellectual property of the Workshop
Editorial Guijarro S.A. de C.V. and its licensors own the Workshop software, interface, brand elements, logos, design, workflows, documentation, templates, code, databases, and other non-user materials. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, or attempt to extract the underlying systems except where permitted by applicable law.
Feedback may be used to improve the Workshop without obligation to compensate you, while your manuscripts and private production content remain governed by the content provisions above.
11. Copyright and rights complaints
If you believe content hosted or generated through the Workshop infringes your rights, contact us through the contact form with enough information to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material, your ownership or authorization, your contact information, and a good-faith statement that the disputed use is unauthorized.
We may remove or restrict content while reviewing a complaint. Repeated or serious rights violations may result in suspension or termination.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Workshop at any time. We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that you violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, failed to pay fees, abused the service, infringed rights, or used the Workshop in a way that could harm users, third parties, providers, or Editorial Guijarro S.A. de C.V.
After termination, provisions concerning ownership, licenses necessary for wind-down, payment obligations, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution, and general terms will survive.
13. Disclaimers
The Workshop is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, and preservation of data.
We do not guarantee that any translation, narration, print layout, EPUB file, PDF, metadata, or other output will be accepted by a distributor, printer, marketplace, publisher, library, platform, court, rights holder, or regulatory authority.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Editorial Guijarro S.A. de C.V., its personnel, affiliates, contractors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages, including loss of manuscripts, business interruption, lost publication opportunities, reputational harm, or loss of data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the Workshop will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Workshop during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limits apply only where legally permitted.
15. Indemnity
If you use the Workshop for a business, press, organization, client, or publication project, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Editorial Guijarro S.A. de C.V. from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your publications, your use of outputs, your violation of these Terms, your infringement of rights, or your misuse of the Workshop.
16. Governing law and disputes
Unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes informally through the contact form. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties consent to the competent courts located in Chihuahua, Mexico, except where applicable law requires another venue.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Workshop, legal requirements, provider requirements, billing features, security needs, or business operations. Material changes will be posted on this page or communicated through reasonable means. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be sent through the contact form. Legal notices should include your name, organization if applicable, account email, affected project or asset if relevant, and a clear description of the request or claim.
